Every listed rate and your calculation

Minutes = calls × average call length. Different callers = calls minus the estimated repeat calls. Use your phone log to replace these assumptions. Only count calls you would send to the service.

Costs exclude taxes, carrier fees, optional tools and human escalation. Calendar integration, staff permissions and your contract may require a different plan. Unknown overage prices remain open.

Choosing for your business

Sona sits inside Quo, while RingCentral AIR has recorded standalone and RingEX add-on options. The correct comparison depends on whether your phone system is staying or changing.

The short answer

Evaluate Sona as part of a Quo workspace decision. Evaluate AIR when its standalone or RingEX-compatible arrangement fits your phones. Keep AI-only charges separate from the cost of the underlying phone platform.

Assumptions: 3 minutes per call, 25% repeat calls, one business and monthly billing. Distinct callers round up. The calculator selects an eligible listed plan; it does not assume a missing overage price. Required known subscriptions are included; unknown totals stay unpriced. Taxes, carrier fees, optional extras and separate setup fees are excluded. These are cost models, not call tests or binding quotes.

How to make the choice

Choose a deployment arrangement first

There are three distinct budgets: Sona with required Quo seats, AIR standalone, and AIR as a RingEX add-on. The smallest AI line item across those arrangements is not necessarily the smallest complete bill. Ask providers to quote the configuration you will actually deploy.

Call allowances and rounded minutes

The recorded Sona bundles count calls. AIR uses minute allowances with 30-second billing increments. For AIR, actual call-length distribution can matter because rounded individual calls need not equal a rounded monthly average. The fixed-duration model is a controlled example, not an invoice forecast.

Do not infer booking from general product copy

The checked Sona catalogue does not establish direct booking on the selected bundles. AIR documentation can describe receptionist capabilities while exact booking and integration access still need confirmation. Require the named action in the purchased configuration before treating either as an appointment solution.

Existing customers have a different switching cost

For an established phone customer, the relevant question may be the additional AI spend and configuration work. For a new customer, number migration, seats, team training and contract commitments belong in the decision. Make both budgets explicit if you are considering a full phone-system replacement.

Check failed routing and teammate access

Place calls to a missing extension, an unavailable staff member and an out-of-hours department. Inspect the fallback and summary visibility. A phone-platform feature can be useful while still failing your particular receptionist handoff.

Quo Sona vs RingCentral AIR: questions

Does AIR require RingEX?

The catalogue records both a standalone AIR option and a RingEX add-on. Confirm the terms and supported deployment for your account.

Does the Sona price include Quo?

No. The comparison includes a known required base seat where calculable; additional seats can change the total.

Are the workload figures exact invoices?

No. They use fixed call duration and published rules. Individual call rounding, excluded extras and account-specific scope can change the charge.

Ranking and price methodology

Recommended: documented fit, then customer feedback. Price availability does not affect the order.

Rankings & commercial relationships ⓘ

Customer rating sources

Our order. Our funding.

What determines the order?

With existing software selected: documented task-compatible connections come first; offers requiring a different business platform are hidden. Unconfirmed connections are available through a separate opt-in. Recommended is the default: a labelled Promoted offer, when an eligible commercial contract is active, appears first. The highest confirmed commission in this filtered view determines that paid position. The editorial order follows documented software / industry fit, then customer feedback adjusted for sample size and product scope. Missing public pricing, amounts, price reports and price/value/feature awards do not change Recommended. Cost-only and name sorts do not pin paid offers. Customer feedback affects editorial ordering with explicit sample-size and product-scope adjustments; raw stars alone do not determine the order.

Named integration → industry workflow → industry mention → general candidate. These are source-evidence groups, not results of independent call tests.

Do we receive a commission?

We may earn a commission when you sign up through our Rosie, NextPhone, AI-Receptionist.com, Maple or OnCrew links. These affiliate relationships do not change editorial rankings, awards or customer ratings. No paid ranking placements are currently active. When commercial placements are activated, commission determines the clearly labelled Promoted position in Recommended, separately from editorial price/value/feature awards and review scores. Rates are compared as contract-confirmed USD payouts per qualified conversion over the first 12 months; unconfirmed percentages are not treated as dollar payouts.
