Every listed rate and your calculation
Minutes = calls × average call length. Different callers = calls minus the estimated repeat calls. Use your phone log to replace these assumptions. Only count calls you would send to the service.
Costs exclude taxes, carrier fees, optional tools and human escalation. Calendar integration, staff permissions and your contract may require a different plan. Unknown overage prices remain open.
Choosing for your business
Rosie and Goodcall both answer business calls, but they meter different things. The useful comparison starts with call duration, repeat callers and what should happen after the greeting.
The short answer
Shortlist Rosie when its message or booking tier matches your workflow. Shortlist Goodcall when repeated or lengthy conversations make a unique-customer allowance attractive. Confirm the connected booking action before choosing on price.

Assumptions: 3 minutes per call, 25% repeat calls, one business and monthly billing. Distinct callers round up. The calculator selects an eligible listed plan; it does not assume a missing overage price. Required known subscriptions are included; unknown totals stay unpriced. Taxes, carrier fees, optional extras and separate setup fees are excluded. These are cost models, not call tests or binding quotes.

A repeat customer can generate several calls without adding another unique caller to the Goodcall count. Rosie consumes call time instead. Export a month of call records and count both answered minutes and distinct numbers. A seasonal campaign that brings new prospects can change this comparison even if your total number of calls stays flat.
Appointment links versus completed bookings
Rosie Professional can send a scheduling link; that is different from the direct booking documented on higher tiers. Goodcall allows external tools, but tool access alone does not establish a working calendar action. Ask each provider to create an appointment in your actual calendar, then inspect the resulting record and confirmation.
A quiet month and a busy month
The workload table changes volume while holding duration and repeat share fixed. Recalculate with your own repeat rate before interpreting a price advantage. For Rosie, missing overage terms mean a larger allowance may be the only calculable option. For Goodcall, a quoted customer allowance is not the same as an unlimited number of new customers.
What to test before forwarding the main number
Try one returning caller, one new caller, a booking conflict and a transfer when nobody picks up. Compare what lands in your inbox or calendar, not just how natural the greeting sounds. Keep forwarding reversible until the failure paths are acceptable.
When neither is the right starting point
If the central requirement is hotel inventory, table reservations or capacity-aware field-service dispatch, begin with the industry shortlist. A generic booking capability does not establish those workflows. An option with a deeper named connection can be more useful than a cheaper general receptionist.
Rosie vs Goodcall: questions
Is Goodcall cheaper than Rosie?
It depends on duration, distinct callers and the required task. Goodcall meters unique customers; Rosie meters minutes. Compare the same month of calls and the eligible tariff rather than the entry price.
Do Rosie and Goodcall both book appointments?
Rosie documents direct booking on higher tiers. Goodcall needs a configured external action; our recorded calendar connections do not establish direct booking for a particular account. Ask for a demonstration in your calendar.
Are repeated calls counted the same way?
No. Goodcall describes counting a phone number once per month, subject to its exclusions. Minute billing uses the time consumed across the calls. The same caller returning several times can therefore change the relative cost.
