Start with documented Shopify connections, then check order access, actions and the support platform you need to keep. Integration availability is not a guarantee of every store operation.
Choose the actual Shopify operation
A storefront connection can mean access to catalogue information, order lookup, an action in a customer account or a handoff into an inbox. Those are different levels of support. The relevant question is the shopper’s request and the exact operation needed to finish it.
Our initial Shopify list requires a named connection in reviewed product documentation. It does not imply that all channels, actions or plan editions are included. Use the task filter to distinguish general answers, order lookups, returns and handoff, then inspect the exact tariff for any remaining requirement.
Keep the storefront and helpdesk decisions separate
You can retain Shopify while changing the support inbox, or keep both Shopify and your existing helpdesk while adding an external AI agent. A product requiring another helpdesk creates a separate adoption decision even when its store connection is documented.
Before comparing fees, identify the required inbox, human seats and any third-party returns, subscription or shipping apps. Their costs and permissions are not established by the AI vendor’s entry subscription. A bundled helpdesk-and-AI price should not be compared with a partial AI add-on as if both covered the same environment.
A return policy answer is not an executed refund
A knowledge agent can explain the store’s policy without authorization to change an order. Execution needs the correct customer and order, a permitted action and a rule for exceptions. An installed integration may also need a separate action connection before the AI can use it.
Gorgias documents this distinction in its app setup guidance. We use it as a practical question to ask across the shortlist: what exactly can the agent read or change, on which tariff, and how does a failed or out-of-policy action reach a person? We do not claim to have executed those actions ourselves.
Compare usage at your inquiry volume
Store traffic, orders and support inquiries are different workload measures. Begin with the inquiries you expect the agent to handle and keep repeat or reopened cases consistent. Message, credit, ticket and outcome models then need their own documented or explicitly assumed conversion.
A monthly base, an AI resolution allowance and the cost of additional tickets can all affect the running budget. The comparison keeps incomplete full totals unknown and allows only established AI subtotals through the AI-budget filter.
Questions before you choose
Do these agents replace Shopify Inbox?
That depends on the product and deployment. A named Shopify connection does not establish an included replacement inbox or the full human-support workflow.
Can I use an agent while keeping my current helpdesk?
Some products document connections to both a store and a helpdesk. Check that exact combination and the required tariff rather than assuming compatibility from either logo alone.
Is a Shopify connection enough to pass the task filter?
No. Named software compatibility and the requested customer task are separate evidence checks. Product-level evidence also remains distinct from exact-plan inclusion.

We aggregate attributed vendor prices and product statements. No independent product tests are claimed. The initial list uses the documented requirements for this page; exact-plan access and full required costs can remain unconfirmed. Each provider profile retains dated pricing and feature statements.
